Version 3 Errata

We have found an error in the newly published version 3 of the rules:

Page 46: RH column - top of page:
The exclusion "(With the exception of light foot)" should apply to the 2nd bullet point not the first.

so the 2 bullets should read:
• No battle group can pass through a battle group that already passed through it this phase.
• (With the exception of Light Foot) No battle group can make any turns, expansions or contractions
before or after passing though another battle group this phase.

Can they burst through?

Can they burst through?
These bullet points are from the 'permitted interpenetrations' section of the rules.
Anything not listed would be a 'burst through' and would therefore, in most cases, cause a loss of cohesion.

I've got a query ...........
Impact phase dice, MF Bw* - surely the ridiculous reduction of MF Bw* losing 1 dice per 2 is a misprint?

Why? In previous versions they haven't been allowed any impact phase dice?

MF with Bow * have never been penalised at impact before either Dave. The wording relating to support shooting is missing. Hence the question.

There were a number of changes that were identified during proof reading, but which, due to an oversight, never made it into the final version.
We are just completing an errata (about 2/3 of a page) which covers these omissions.
It should be available later today.

Well I'm only about half way through reading the rules and I've found quite a lot of errors.
If you've only got 2/3 of a page of errata you've missed quite a lot.

I will post my findings when I have finished reading the rules.

I assume the rules will be reprinted with all the corrections and a free copy sent out to everyone who has bought the expensive paperweight?

Very disappointing.

Still no army list books which are essential to make proper use of the rules.
Lets hope there are less errors in the army list books or its going to mean a lot of reprinting.

Very disappointing.

I think FOGAM may have just killed itself off.

A little harsh perhaps Peter? I agree its not ideal but its not the end of the world. My V3 ADLG rules came with 14 pages of FAQs, clarifications and errata.

Perhaps, time will tell. For the sake of FOGAM I hope you are right and I'm wrong.
FOGAM is a good game and I would like to see it become more successful.

Good to see that Peter - we're on the same page. Not the best start to V3 I agree but hopefully we can make progress from here.

Just need that errata.....Terry?

Even thought Slitherine have taken down the 'live' Field of Glory website you can still find copies of an 8-page FoGAM FAQ via the Wayback Machine site at https://web.archive.org/web/20160401200 ... er5.01.pdf

A 14-page FoGAM errata document is also available from the same site at https://web.archive.org/web/20130403114 ... _V1_17.pdf

The BHGS site also has a separate 6-page set of Umpires Clarifications as well, which are online at http://www.bhgs.org.uk/uploads/9/3/2/3/ ... ations.pdf

So, it looks like as long as Terry can get the errata, FAQ and clarifications for V3.0 down to less than the 28 pages published for the previous edition of FoG, that will actually be a step forward

The first edition of the V3 Rules Errata is now posted on the BHGS website.

http://www.bhgs.org.uk/field-of-glory-a ... ieval.html

In unrelated news, it looks like the first book of army lists is due out shortly...

Next week it seems.

Rumour is that Terry will get you the errata for that a couple of days later  8)

Hi

In addition to the errata already published I suspect that the following are also errors.
It would be helpful if this could be confirmed and if so the corrections added to the errata.

Thanks
Peter

Page 62
Picture states "This will be 2 dice vs 2 dice in the impact"
I assume this should be 3 dice vs 3 dice?

Page 64
Final picture. The elephants move is shown using a straight stick.
Either this picture is wrong or there is some missing text.
The words in the charging section suggest to me that charges should make wheels in the normal way as described in movement, not as shown in the picture which moves the elephants further.
Which is correct, the text or the picture?

Page 65
Picture title "Final position"
Similar problem to the picture of the elephants on page 64. The light horses move is shown using a straight stick.
Either this picture is wrong or the text is wrong.
The text in the other picture on the page and else where in the charging section state that evaders should make wheels in the normal way as described in movement, not as shown in the picture which moves the light horse further.
Which is correct, the text or the picture?

Page 81
First picture
The picture shows two bases to the side shooting at close range.
The text for shooting clearly states only 1 base to the side at close range.
Which is correct, the text or the picture?

Peter:

Page 62: The text in the picture is incorrect - it should read 3 dice per base

Page 64: bottom diagram:
The rule (page 40) states:
"For ease of measuring, the distance moved is taken as a straight line from the starting position to the ending position of the moving front corner"
- so nothing wrong with this diagram.

Page 65: Final Position:
Nothing wrong with this diagram either - for the same reason.

Page 81: Top Picture:
If you draw a line vertically from the left edge of the 2nd base from the left - it has the target enemy BG slightly to its front - which permits the 3rd base to fire at close range as a single overlap. The picture could have done with slightly modifying to make this clearer - but changing diagrams is quite a major undertaking, so it was left as is.
