Ran across a strange message today in PBEM. Maybe someone could take a look at this. Video content is self explanatory, you can watch past the first minute if you want to watch my terrible strategies and see if you can spot any issues while playing the game.

Kind of what it says. You are running different versions of the game. Its likely down to one of you modding it though I don't know what you could of done at this stage to cause that.

Did either of you edit Mapview.txt?

My game is a clean install off steam, no mods at all. What does Mapview.txt do?

I just got this on two MP games, different opponents. It happened right AFTER I downloaded some of the new usermade content via the in game function.

Is it possible one of those scenarios has changed some core file?

Edit: possible red herring, played MP turn with a third player and no error so perhaps my 1st two opponents have been doing some modding.

No - downloaded mods cannot do that.

Mapview. alters your camera zoom but whether that would affect it or not I don't know. Its just that its the main mod most people are performing at the moment.

I had this happen too, again after having downloaded custom scenarios.

For me as well, but everything seems to be working as it should

That ought not to affect it, but we are looking into it. In the meantime it is probably safe to continue these games.

Had you run any of the custom scenarios? If so, which ones?

It would also be useful to know if the games in question ARE downloaded scenarios.

Not to my knowledge. I have downloaded absolutely nothing. It was/is a random battle.

I had briefly run all 5 new battles. There were no issues that I could see however. I got the notifications twice, then restarted the game. I haven't gotten any since.

That Is exactly what I experienced. One opponent has played another turn since and states he has not modded the game nor d/l any user content. ( he got the same message)

Can you please post the error.log immediately after you get one of these messages come up, in case it provides any useful information to help us track it down.

Probably not yet. It only occurs if you access MP after accessing some of the user content.
