Armoured Cavalry

what exactly is this unit in historical context? romans ,diadochi and some other have it. does each faction has same unit, as in stats are equal?

There are Average and Superior (Veteran) versions, otherwise the stats are identical. They are just standard Ancient cavalry with spear/javelin and not using lance.

Just FYI - Roman Equites at the time of Macedonian wars, were fighting as shock cavalry, which was a big surprise to Macedonians who expected them to keep distance and fight with javelins.. instead, they closed in, and engaged them in close combat which routed them.. (i can find the direct quote of this from Polybius if you want)
