Ok i have asked about the Succesor list before and the is a 650pt tournament in my area and I have decided to bring a Succesor Army .Do you think Pyrrhic has a chance? (being about the most average army possible Later Macedonian have a more interesting list for gods sake! ) I am unsure .What are you thoughts ,expierence's etc .Should I just take Seleucid or Ptolemaic. I have worked out some lists but they all look like the example army in the book with slight variations.any thoughts thanks guys for the help .

I think there is a long Phyrric thread somewhere on this site. I poked around but couldn't find it. Maybe someone more technologically adept (or with a better memory) could point you to it.
I'm too much a noob to give army advice. I just remember reading a thread.

There is nothing wrong with the Pyrrhic army list but there is not much 'special' in there. IMO if you are going to play the army for tournament advantage then you will need to either take the Tarentine phalanx or Galatian foot. Otherwise you might as well play one of the other successor type armies.
What are the parameters of the tournament? 650 points obvioulsy, 25mm or 15mm? what table size?

15mm 6x4 I think I was thinking along the same line as you but are the shock cav and tarentine better or are the gauls better for a tourney?

Take a Successor or Ptolemaic army and pretend it is officially "Pyrrhic". That way you can have two BGs of elephants that may be deployed on the wings if required, just like Pyrrhus did.
