Lag on deployment screen

I’ve been playing with my wimpy school computer and have noticed that when I mouse over units to select them in the deployment phase, I get a significant amount of lag. The rest of the game runs smooth (relatively). I assume this is some problem due to the weakness of my laptop but I am wondering if anything can be done to mitigate it save from playing on my better home PC
