Hey.

I just recently heard about these special hero units like Oleh Dir and Rudel.
I installed Panzer Corps a few weeks ago, patched to 1.30 and then installed the first few DLC's ('39-41). I didn`t get any of those special hero units and I have no idea why!?
They just should spawn automatically but they didn't. What am I missing here? Please help

Rudel should show up at the beginning of your 2nd turn in the first 1939 scenario (Poznan) as 'Reconnaissance Flight Ju87B'. Oleh Dir shows up (not sure what turn) in the Lodz scenario as '2nd Gebirgsjager'. If they didn't show up, maybe the fact that you patched to 1.30 then installed the DLC's caused the problem. The DLC's should probably be installed before the 1.30 patch.

In general, special heroes may not spawn in the first turn, so you need to wait a bit. Did you play through the entire scenario (e.g., Poznan) and did not get Rudel?

I played every scenario from DLC '39-'41 now. Only DVs and I almost always captured every enemy city. i didn`t get a single special hero unit.
maybe I should reinstall the game, then install the DLC's and THEN patch to 1.30??

At the end of the 1941 DLC (Demyansk Pocket), I had 6 uber-heroes. I don't know if it changes as I've only played it once. You'd have to ask one of the people who've played these campaigns multiple times.

6. Helmut Wirnsberg 19th Gebirgs. 2 attack, 3 initiative Smolensk

Patch 1.30 came out well after the 39-41 DLCs, so if none of your units have the above values at the end of 1941, I'd definitely try reinstalling, then installing the patch last to see if that helps.

I had a similar problem with my installation. I was getting special heroes for a while and then suddenly nothing. The heroes were not even showing up in the editor. I'm not sure what happened but I had to do a clean install of everything to get it fixed.

The captured units are listed first and you generally have to capture a specific hex to receive them. The special heroes are scripted and will show up on a specified turn.
