ERIK's MP SCENARIOS

Hi Erik,
I'm back to MP after a lengthy hiatus. We use to play MP games as you were developing them and
it was a lot of trial and error. I was wondering if you could answer a couple of questions for me.
Are your MP games that are listed in the MP Games thread by VPUALUS up-to-date and playable? In other words have you
pretty much eliminated the problems in them? And will they work with the latest version of the game?
I have a friend who lives across the street and he is interested in buying the game and trying MP. He has had surgery
and can't get out. We are both retired and since he is interested in this I was hoping to get him hooked on OOB.
If he downloads the free version what does he need to buy to play MP games?
I hope you can help me with these questions. Thanks in advance.
Larry

I update scenarios based on feedback from players.
That means most of my custom single-player and multi-player scenarios have not received any updates ifor some time time.
But they should still work.
Most of the feedback has been about my custom Blitzkrieg and Sea Lion campaigns, so they were recently updated.
MP-functionality may require purchase of one campaign, I'm not sure.
I buy all new campaigns to support further development of the game...
Hope that helps.

To access MP and custom scenarios you need to own at least 1 paid DLC.

Thanks, I own all of them. I have to get my buddy to buy some.
Are the Blitzkrieg and Sea Lion campaigns Multiplayer? I have downloaded both of them.
I apologize if these questions seem stupid (there are no stupid questions just stupid people), but after a lapse in time
I feel like I just parachuted in. If a person follows the MODS daily then it all makes sense. But believe me, it is complicated
when you haven't dealt with it for a while. I had to do a lot of trial and error just to get the damn things to show up on the MP screen.
I put the folders in about six different locations and they finally showed up.
And hot seat means players have to be at the same computer right? You still don't have true multiplayer where everyone is on their own PC and playing in realtime, so to speak? Not dependent on email turns?

All campaigns, official or custom, are single player.
Hot-seat is at the same PC, yes.
Current multiplayer is not real-time. You play your turn and upload. The other player download the turn, play it and upload etc.
The automatic email is used to notify the other player that it is his turn.

okay, nothing has changed.
I put sea lion and blitzkrieg 39-40 in every folder labeled campaigns that I could locate, both in steam and Slitherine and they don't show up.
Also, on my gaming desktop, when I log in to Multiplayer I get the little symbol on my "picture" of the B that denotes a past beta tester.
But I just logged in to multiplayer on my gaming laptop using the same log in info and the symbol is missing. Any idea why or is there someone you
could forward this to. Or I can do it if you know who handles this type of problem?

That's the first place I put your campaigns.
I just checked again and now they show up because I didn't have the custom campaign button until today.
Thanks.

Yes, that missing custom button was fixed in 4.1.5 and higher
