some bugs

Hi!

First of all: I love this game, and I want to thank you for keeping this particular genre alive. I'm supporting you. :) I played Panzer General I and II as a kid, and Panzer Corps as an adult. That's my first post. I have gathered some problems, now I feel that I must write. I haven't read the whole tech support topic, so I'm sorry if I post something that has already been solved. I'm at the end of the U.S. Pacific campaign.

1) The music stops after 5-10 minutes, and I have to reload the whole game for it to start playing again. It's a mild annoyance.
2) After the Kriegsmarine DLC the naval combat prognosis started to calculate the damage of the actual position not taking into account that I have changed my distance from the target. With this problem I can't plan perfectly. Actually there are many times when you have to modify your distance from the target (advancing, fleeing), the naval ascpect is not only about circling around. Especially when sometimes the damage gets higher if you get closer (because you get in range).
3) When you get new units you get a message - as it was in Panzer General, Panzer Corps and this game. In the campaign I got these messages for a while, but in the last 3 or maybe 4 maps I don't get it. I have to manually check whether I have a new unit or not and it's a little bit tiring.
4) There are some bugs about the objectives in the Leyte and Okinawa maps. The red crosshair doesn't show the proper objective.
5) ...minor misspelling in Okinawa (twice!): it's Shuri Castle, not Shiru Castle and Yonabaru, not Yanbaru. It's pain to read, maybe because I know more about Okinawa than I should.

Thank you for your answers.

Hi and welcome,

1) Never noticed that before. Heat of the battle.
2) That has been reported and will be fixed with an update very soon.
3) Yes, that suddenly disappeared. Thanks for bringing this up.
4) Please post screenshots. Adherbal will fix it.
5) Thanks.

It may take a few days, but these will be fixed in a new quick bugfix patch.

I checked the scenarios; they work in spite of these cosmetic errors. In Leyte, the briefing arrow points to Dagami but Tabontabon does count toward the secondary VP objective. In Okinawa, the arrow should be pointing to Shiru Castle but is one hex off. Also, Naha functions as the fifth primary victory point even the the briefing points to Kin up north.

Not to take away from your contributions in this regard, Raine. These errors should be corrected and thanks for bringing them up. I just felt the need to ensure that the scenarios do work, regardless, which makes sense else we would have heard more complaints about them.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, they work, the scenarios aren't broken. These are mainly cosmetic issues, but could be a little bit confusing.

Thanks for reporting these. I've fixed all except the music issue, which I'll look into today.

Thank you. There is one more - serious - bug I haven't mentioned. The "Block Construction" specialization gives a 10% discount to every unit, not just to the naval ones (as mentioned in the description).

Right as rain, Raine. Adherbal, you can see what he is talking about by downloading and opening up these two PDF files, side-by-side. One is before Block Construction and one is after. As Raine states, every unit is discounted 10% after this specialization is acquired.

Before Block Construction
After Block Construction

Hi!

The 3) bug hasn't been solved yet, I still can't see the new available units window pop up.

3) the game has trouble showing correctly the availability dates since beginning. The New Units Available screen rather only pops up when reloading a save game.
At moment with 5.2.3, it’s weird that the US Pacific and Marines campaign always show Engineers ’41 as New Units Available screen at campaign start, but no other unit. No clue why.
