With the new maps, I'm fighting in woods a lot more often. which units are best to defend in woods, and which to attack?
I found the rules a little confusing, as units seem to be disadvantaged by defending from, or attacking into, woods, which would seem to make it a wash...

It depends on who you are up against. LF are absolutely fine in woods, though not really appropriate for assault troops. MF are the best, in my experience.
