Armies: Alexander Macedonian V Romans mid republican
Terrain: Desert
Units: 13 19
I deployed my main pike block in line with the main roman line with my two units of hoplites on either side to protect my flanks. My light horse and light foot on a flanks where only a few skirmishers were to hold that side. And my cavalry on a flank march to hit in the flank. In the compulsory move nothing happened on my first go my pikes and flank supports double marched to close the gap between the main forces, thankfully my flank march didn’t arrive or they’d be hacked to bits and with shooters out of range it was the next go. The roman main line went ahead sending javelin men up to my pikes failing hopelessly at shooting. With the javelin men within charge reach I charged going slow why they pegged it. After the Romans next go the skirmishers could shoot each other,
I could charge the main line and the Romans were in a checkerboard formation.
Failing dice rolls I had to charge but only a third could but amazingly I survived
The next two rounds had some luck on the shoot to get some disrupted. And got all my troops in one flank fled but got recovered thanks to Alexanda only to get fragmented later on but held up a legionnaire my cavalry arrived just at the right moment to kick ass against the Roman cavalry. In the main battle although disrupted in some places I held up beating the left flank really helped in the rest of the battle one test I hade to do was as worse as it could get but got a 6 6 although I managed to beat back superiors I can across a deadly unit poor troops which held me back every turn and the amazing thing is that they were in elements of two. Although collapsing the flanks I was saved buy the bell as three hours were up or my phalanx would have collapsed because of threatened flank on the right although I said both flanks were mine the right flank at the back was mine. I also managed to get the other Roman cavalry chasing my light horse finale score as of time 7-3 and the moral of the battle is FEAR the poor P.S support save many rolls for the Romans.
