This years
Ancients Doubles will see 4 parallel competitions running across 4 sets of Ancients "big battle" rules over one back-stabbingly fabulous weekend in September.
So, if you've always felt that the dice have had it in for you, and you need someone else to blame for your own incompetence and poor dice rolling, we definitely have an event for you this September!
Events we will be running are:
• FoGAM - 900 Points, "The Glory of Rome" - armies and allies must be drawn from either Rise of Rome or Legions Triumphant. Currently planned as a V2.0 competition, although if V3.0 is released in time it may become a V3.0 event.
• DBMM - 500pts, Book 3 dates - 476AD to 1071AD , 72" by 48" tables
• L'Art de la Guerre - 350pts, "Rome Uber Allies": Lists 47-77 & 82-115. Any Allies used must also be drawn from these lists
• Mortem et Gloriam - 12,000pts, Open - all published lists allowed
All 4 events will be played in 15mm and are for teams of 2 players, each commanding around half of a larger-than-normal army on a standard-sized table.
Entry fees are
£40 per team of two people.

Sorry, as you were - I've dug out the BHGS archive and its the two Roman books. Website now updated to match the promo pics here.
(It must have been the post from Dave F saying "Tim P, can you alter the website a bit,it is saying it is open and Roman period" that confused me....)

To clarify,it is the two Roman books, largely to match the other rule sets
The web site does still have both on Tim

If you need any figures, give me a shout. I can do most armies in period.

Results as follows
1st Daves, Ruddock and Bannister 84pts (yes they were exceptionally lucky and certainly in our case matched with exceptional bad luck)
2nd Ellis's Andy and Kevin 60pts
3rd Fairhurst's Lynda and David 46pts
4th Dave Morrison and John Patrick 40pts
5th Shaw's Ali and Terry 34pts
6th Pitfield's Roger and Adrian 21pts
The Society of Ancients Alexander bust was won by Alasdair Harley in MeG, although the Daves missed retaining it by 1%
I need to come up with a new way or working out the winner of this given the different scoring systems.
