Taking the Modlin Fortress was one of the secondary objectives in the 2nd scenario of the Blitzkrieg campaign. I spent a lot of time and blood taking it but I don't seem to have received any benefit from having done so.

Did I miss something?

Also, does capturing the armored train ever pay dividends? It says later but I am curious when.

Pretty sure the fortress isn't worth it, but I can't remember.

The train takes a while to be repaired, but ended up being really nice and useful for me once I got it.

You're supposed to get two additional specialization points for taking Modlin.

The Armored Train first shows up in Yugoslavia and is pretty useful.

Thanks to captured Modlin in 2 turns. I should get ARtilerry (for this scenario) and 2 specializations points..

Is there any message stating that the points were awarded? I didn't see any message.

I don't think there's a message to that effect, so it's just a question of whether you receive +5 or +7 points after completing the scenario.
