Where is Bayug Hanger?

In the US Pacific Leyte scenario Bayug Hanger is labeled Buri. It's 9 hexes in from the coast in the center of your invasion area. The quickest way to find it is to click on the blue question mark next to the "Secondary Objectives" entry on the Turn Overview panel.

I have tried to "Reach" Bayug Hanger 5 different ways to claim the Secondary Objective and nothing works. Can you please explain what is required to claim the Secondary Objective?

Did you by any chance destroy the hangar before reaching it?
As the reward is a Japanese strategic bomber, if you destroy the hangar before having a ground unit within a certain distance of it (adjacent?) ...
I know because in one of my attempts I was too eager and bombed it into smithereens.
