Soft Cap - Am I stuck with it?

I've turned it off but that was a few scenarios into my current Afrika Korps campaign.
I've got vague memories of seeing a post that said that you could only disable it prior to campaign start for that to make a difference...

I think you are stuck with it, but one of the more experienced modders may be able to correct me on this. .

If you use GME, Niki has a soft cap off mod which can be used to switch it off conveniently - I use one I made myself, and GME makes it easy to use.

 Thought so....

Thanks - I 've got a GME mod already in place.

Couple of points addressed To Whom It May Concern.....

1) This *really* *really* should be in the manual

I've spent God knows how much time on the forum trying to find out what Soft Cap was (having seen plenty of posts complaning about it). There's not even a link to anything on the FAQ thread. The posts on it are often contradictory - even the Dev's coefficient calculation I saw seemed to be wrong and corrected in another post on another thread by someone else

... and to be frank I don't want to play Panzer Corps via Excel spreadsheet anyway which leads me onto:

2) This should be controllable via the UI rather than mucking around with data files.

3) This *really* *really* should be in the manual

Enough said.

In my experience, you can turn it off in the middle of a campaign/scenario, but it will not take effect until the next scenario. If you have proceeded to the next scenario with it on, you can turn it off, but again it will not take effect until the following scenario. If you have a save at the end of your last turn of a scenario or somewhere near the end, turn it off, then finish the scenario you are in and proceed to the next scenario, it should then be off.

I just simply edit (change the soft cap value to 0) the gamerules.pzdat in Notepad. However, I haven't seen Niki's mod to do so in the GME. Anyone have a link to it.
