I see many players managing impressive victories with these dreadful difficulties like Guderian, Manstein and Rommel.
Have you tried the ultimate difficulty? Is it possible to finish a campaign on this level? Or It exists just to tease the players?

I tried this difficulty when it first came out. It made the tutorial unplayable, to say nothing of the real game campaigns.
It was basically Rommel and Guderian and Manstein all at once, it was definitely too much. But cutting it up is how the other three difficulties came into being. Finishing a campaign on these difficulties is a pretty substantial feat though, it's one of the rarest achievements you can get on Steam!
Impossible turned out to just too literal in this case.

With the soft cap, the Rommel and Manstein appear to be impossible to go from 39-45 in the Grand Campaign as you will simply not be able to get the 50K prestige minimum by 43 that you need to rack up before the "Tiger tax" bleeds your prestige over the last three years. I think I was playing Field Marshal from 43-45 with 45K prestige and made it to Berlin Redux using up all my prestige and settling for 13 strength tanks in the final battle. Do the same with Rommel would be hard from a saving standpoint and reduced prestige for wins/cities, and Manstein will simply bleed you so much it will be hard to save given replacements will be continuous.
Of course "impossible" is Advance to the Elbe at anything more than Colonel as Germany
Of course an "ultimate difficulty" will be impossible to go all the way. Getting through 39 and 40 alive will be hard enough and if you make it you will die of lack of prestige in 44-45!
