I have tried to play several minor realms. As it is a realm dont produce not all resources needed for upgardes or special units.
But the only way to get the needed resources is trading them via the diplomacy screen. The market place for trading goods ist the most time empty or only one good is sold (and the most time only one unit of the good).
So the market place is useless... Yes i know that I can use it to quickly sell my own resources.

Whenever we make changes to the game, it can have an effect on the marketplace, at present it loosk like we didn't quite get the balance correct (in the past there was a time when the marketplace was overflowing with resources, making them far too easy to obtain).

You can expect this to change in future patches as we continue to tweak the balance of the game.
