AI Behavior

How does the AI behave differently between AI levels, 0, 1, and 2? More aggressive? Better attack sequence? Smarter about which units to attack? I'd really like to know as, I swear, level 2 is much dumber and more likely to give up an entrenchment level of 8 (or any other number) which makes them much easier to kill quickly than they are at level 1. Any help?

I have never figured out the difference between AI=1 and AI=2...it's equally dumb as far as I can see :P

My experience sample with Level 2 is quite small.
Just 1 resp 2 Afrika Korps Campaigns.

But I noticed no difference to Level 1 as well.

Since I also have no experience with Level 0 either, can anyone with more experience elaborate the Differences please.

Maybe I'm slow in the uptake and Level 0 (as in Mistakes per Turn) ist the toughest One

I also want to know the exact difference.

I experimented and noticed some differences in GC scenarios - the AI was much more aggressive with Level 2, It also spawned some units to defend his cities; with Level 0 and 1 the AI was very passive - staying in one place.
Attack sequence was the same with all levels. It didn't get smarter, but definitely attacked more with Level 2.

I would agree that level 2 is more aggressive, even to abandoning an entrenched position - which isn't smart. I have always taken the buying extra units to be because the level 2 AI is associated with higher difficulty levels where the AI gets more prestige and can simply better afford to buy units.

Try it at Manstein level. AI is a lot more aggressive. Painfully so. ;)

Hmm, AI=2 is the highest level possible. As far as I know, Manstein only changes the way experience and/or prestige is awarded. The AI doesn't get smarter/more aggressive beyond level 2 :P

At Manstein the AI units are str 15 so they get better attack predictions. That would be why they attack more.

That is what I meant.
The enemy feels a lot more confident attacking you when it has 15 str compared to your 10 or weaker str.
