Top 10 things that I love about Panzer Corps

Ok I am posting a topic to try and get something a little more positive out there to stimulate conversation rather than focusing on the negative as certain other posters seem to be focusing on.
(Yeah I am looking at you Yrfin.

)
I am going to assume that his goal has been just to generate conversation as that is putting the best construction on it. (My Lutheran Faith compels me to do so.)
So since I have some time here at work, for the next 10 posts on this topic I am going to list my Top 10 reasons I love this game.
Please provide any thoughts or additions I am leaving out.

Number 10:
The Vanilla Campaign
This game was set up as homage to Panzer General. (If rumor is correct the developers of Panzer General Forever are the ones who developed this game)
Panzer General was one of my favorite games as a young adult and something that I would keep coming back to as it was fun to pick up and try something different from time to time.
The Vanilla Campaign was set up with such balance and love that almost every scenario is worth to play as a single scenario let alone the great and complex set up of the entire campaign.
I have yet to beat this campaign on the Victory Campaign Path that leads to America, just beat it by winning Bagration.
Each scenario was set up with care and is great to play against someone on multiplayer starting with Poland as the best starter scenario ever and even the way Germany East and Germany West is set up as a challenge either side when playing in Multiplayer and showcases the need for Germany to be crushed by both sides.
I know I am leaving stuff out, but this is a good start.

Number 9:
Afrika Korps
I have just started this extremely fun sandbox so I do not have much exposure to this fun little campaign or their scenarios, but my assessment right off the bat is this is so well set up and makes the gameplay unlike any other campaign I have played as of yet. Each scenario has been challenging on what to bring and how to go about the scenario to minimize damage, maximize prestige, and garner experience.
Almost every unit has an actual unit name from the actual war and gives an aspect of realism that it makes you feel immersed in the actual war, and being able to control the outcome.
It has given me even greater appreciation for a game that I already considered the greatest game of all time. So...Yeah this had to make it on a list like this.

Number 8:
Scenario Depth
This leads me to #8
Scenario Depth
This is something I gained a greater appreciation on by Beta testing Soviet Corps and US Corps.
I have a pretty tremendous knowledge base when it comes to the 2nd World War and still love studying more and more to this day.
But this game has caused me to research Battles and missions I have often overlooked or not found much interest in.
Based on the set up of the scenario I am about to play I find myself looking up what it's historicity and it's outcome was. It has in just the scenarios that have been chosen to showcase in the game caused me to get greater knowledge about battles in specific and the war overall in general.
For this reason I had to put this on my list.

Number 7:
Unit Diversity
Well I posted this in another thread, but I will say it here again.
There are no useless units in the game.
I do not play with all of the available units, but I am still learning appreciation for units that I had not even considered up to that point, and for that reason this makes my list.

1. PzC is my favorite turn-based war game (after Chess, of course)
2. Im very sad, because PzC looking like useless project for Slitherine Developers Team.

3. Anycase, Im still in game (working about my own Mod) and I hope about PzC will be live for me and PzC community.
Just for me (about my favourite 10 features):
1. Turn-based war game.
2. Historical context.
3. Good enough balance between grounds/air units
4. Ability change games rules
5. Ability change units set up
6. Ability change units parameters
7. Good enough computers requirements.
8. Good enough graphics. (I dont like 3D).
9. Ability create new content.
10. Funny community at boards

Number 6:
Game Balance
There are so many scenarios that are set up with an equal balance between the opposing teams that it would be impossible to list them all here but played against a competent opponent makes for a very good time.
The game itself is set up in such a way to challenge even the most competent player and frustrates/delights me again and again.

Number 5:
The Grand Campaign
What can I say about the enormity, depth, and challenge of getting started and surviving all the way through this incredible Mega Pack that I am still having fun exploring and still discovering new things on this great great game.

Number 4:
Tricks, Tips, and Hidden Gems.
I distinctly remember my first time playing multiplayer. I picked the Germans in Poland expecting my familiarity with Panzer General give me the ability to get an easy victory and teach me the ins and outs of this new game. WRONG!!!
I played my first of many games against Hollowlolo who taught me so much about the intricacies and tricks to playing this game successfully.
These lessons continue even now and something I try to learn and pass on to you guys as best I can.

Number 3:
Custom Game Settings
This game has so many ways to tweak it to make it as hard or as easy as you want it.
I of course like testing the limits of difficulty and for people like me that sort of customization leaves me very very happy, that is why this makes it in my Top 3.
I am loving Rommel, Guderian, and Manstein after playing at Field Marshall level, which was challenging enough.
And rumor has it there is an Ultimate setting which I have found in the deep craws of this forum, but I have heard very little discussion about so I am unsure if it exists, but maybe just a custom setting that one can set to make this game flat out impossible, and yet still intrigues me.

Number 2:
Multiplayer
Is this a surprise to anyone? Maybe a surprise that it is not Number 1, but this is my greatest passion when it comes to this game.
It is this passion that has kept me from experiencing all that the single player has to offer, although I have had a fire lit in my butt for my 3 new single player campaigns I am trying to update on my AAR's on that tab.
This distraction has kept me away from multiplayer for way too long and I am hoping to get some time this weekend to jump back on to play my next rounds against my opponents.

Number 1:
The Community
This could be the only thing to beat multiplayer in my book, and without this great community multiplayer would be no fun at all.
So there could be nothing better for number 1 in my book.
The great community includes the developers, the modders, the multiplayer community, and the people who frequent this forum.
You guys are the best and something I cherish.
Blessings on your weekend and let me know what I missed or which ones are your top 3.

Yes, the Community is great and it has kept the game alive for so many years!
I also wanted to point out that this forum software has a particularly useful feature of putting users on an ignore list so that you don't have to see all those annoying posts from certain individual(s)

Life do gets better thanks to this!

Yrfin,
One of the strengths of Panzer Corps is that the forum is largely supportive and positive, whether old hand or noobs.
If you wish to post, please remember this or the moderators will have to intervene.
