It's possible that there are no updates ready on the server yet, but usually if this is the case the updater will just tell you that you have the latest version. Instead of that i get the following message:

An error has occured while trying to update field of glory. Please run the update application and try again or contact slitherine for help.
Error details:
Unable to determine the installed version. Could not get the specified values data.


Is this normal? (This is with the new build by the way)

no, if it's making a connection and giving an error, it doesn't sound like a firewall issue, or SN, so please contact support who may advice a different course of action, if you don't want or wish to go down the route of trying your members account and manually grabbing the updates from there.

What's the game version you are running? Is it the old engine version or the Unity?
You can see the game version number displayed in the bottom left of the game main menu screen.

This is the unity version (i have the original version also installed to a different directory) and the game version for unity is:

FOG (U) v2.5.02 1042 GM2e release (mod) build (201606061435)

You have the last version. There's no new update available so far.
However, the error you receive indicate one of the two things:
1. Your game update feature is corrupted. On this case you should reinstall the game
2. One of your Internet security programs (anti-virus, firewall, etc.) is interfering with the game update feature.

I'll try the reinstall. Thanks for info.
