Couldn't find any models at a first glance through the directories.
Anyone have an idea if and how they can be edited?
Skins show a high ability to create your own chapters. Cool!!

I think they are .dds files. Skyrim uses those types of files for their models.

My bad. I think I meant the skins... lol
Yeah, when you find that out and how to open the models themselves, PM me!

You can indeed reskin the models (when they are running your own campaigns). If you create a folder in your custom campaign called DATA/BATTLE/UNITTEXTURES then any textures placed in there will be used in place of their core install version.
Note that TGA files can also be used, but they use more memory for a given resolution than DDS files and so you should bear that in mind. You can convert to DDS using a variety of tools (such as xnView, etc) or author directly using plugins for Photoshop etc, include this one

Let me know if you need any more info.

P.S. The models themselves are unfortunately not moddable. Sorry!

Maybe just as well, will keep the style more uniform and prevent a wildgrowth of heroes etc.
Plus you guys need to earn money with dlc's too, of course.
Will a more generic space marine chapter come out any time soon then?

Actually, I don't think it would be a problem regarding revenue stream of DLC, as more often than not, you have to get most content DLC to make the most of the updated mods (most Dawn of War mods are not playable without the latest stand alone expansions). And it requires way too much dedication from a modding team to make a mod that could "threaten" the publisher (unless they only get horse armor grade DLC out).

.sf4 - solvusoft file extension, it's an archive file.
I believe the model info is hidden in these .s4f files. Which I suspect are just binary geometry data, prolly just a renamed or proprietary .3ds or .obj model.
the texture maps are absolutely beautiful, very very nice stuff

We will release an exporter to allow users to create and include their own objects as soon as we have a moment to breath

Unfortunately unit models are not editable (though you can of course re-texture them).
