Autobreak and disorder

A couple of quick queries.

A general attached to a unit pushes Poor up to Average, Average up to Superior etc for shooting and hand to hand, fair enough. Am I right in assuming that for the purposes of autobreak the general can't help? IE a Poor unit will still run away when it loses 40% not 50%

Roads can only go through villages. These villages can disorder many troops but nowhere do I see that being on the road negates this disorder. So is it correct to say that a unit will move quicker through the village by using the road but will still have to put up with being disordered until it clears the settlement and hits clear terrain again?

Thanks in advance.

The first line is not quite correct. Shooting is not influenced by the general in the front rank, unless it is impact phase combat shooting by those rear ranks receiving the charge.
