There is a limit on the length of unit names, but I am not entirely sure what it is, because it partly depends on additional characters added internally by the engine. Some trial and error is needed I think - start by shortening the longest ones and see what happens.
Also, there is a limit on the length of assetfilenames, which, if exceeded, will prevent the textures from being loaded. Once again this depends on a number of factors, but keeping the assetfilename down to about 17 or 18 characters should work.
