Gods like infantery !

Lets start improve infantery !

More multi-purpose unit.

For example -German Infanery:

Add infantery close art support

The multi purpose is okay for FlaK and submarines. I also like the fortified positions but I've done away with the Arty/Pak switch. That's not how arty was used.
My Stugs are also just AT, but have the anti infantry stats of the arty switch.
I like my medal awards and they are awarded by unit type, these switches mess up the medal system. So I'm sticking with seperate mortars and light infantry guns, that you can upgrade to real artillery.

Ok. Let me explain what I mean.
Nobody will be purchase single 7.5 arty or 8 cm Mortir unit. So -7.5 arty and 8 cm Mortir useless in game :(
But we can use this real small arty - in switch mode. Close combat - range 0.

I have used HW infantry and Panzergrenadiers that switch to 1-Range artillery to simulate supporting fire from HMGs and mortars.
In artillery mode, move drops to 1 from 2, AA defence to 0 from -1 and CD drops to 1, move type to 4 (artillery move). Other stats stay the same, but price increases by 20 for the switching capability. They aren't that powerful as ammo is only 5 and SA5 and HA3 isn't that powerful, but they add a little variety.
