How do people feel Pike heavy armies fare in FoG, was looking at Low Countries, and wondered if anyone had used 50+ pike on a table ?

Cheers

24 pike is the minimum I'd use - I've faced 48+ and that is quite scary

I've played Swiss with 48 Pikes. It was fun and fast. They are a danger to anything they can hit.

With Low Countries you could instead of Pikes take Offensive Spearmen in quantity, but being only Protected such spears are not the broad spectrum type that Armoured would be. Ordinary drilled protected Pikes, however, are still formidable.

I've pointed out but not played a Low C list with 60 Pikes in 6 BGs plus some supports including Knights, a few staked Longbows, and light troops for screening and flank cover. It keeps the army from being totally one-dimensional by offering a couple of secondary threats/reserves.

The Swiss echelon attack tactic can work in game as well to improve the flank situation.
