back into the beta testing so here is my very current game - already the allies are in big trouble
more fair weather so we go for all out counter attack - we can't risk a BB for the shore bombardment but we send a DD (which missed!) with mass air support and all the French heavy units - even though you can see the mechs!!
not sure Max new that northern hex was land so there s a deadtruck something gone from the hex below the DD
my guess its a middle east or maybe sealion strategy for the axis

Seems like you didn't delete the corresponding .dat files from the background names folder and that's why northern France coastline is not showed correctly.

there only seems to be .png files and and a .DS_store file in that folder

You have to remove the map*_nogrid.dat files in both folders background and background names. start a hot seat and go through accessing all the zoom levels with and without names.

those files aren't there just .PNG and the DS_Store

How have you installed all the files? Did you get a big ZIP file with lots of folders? PC or MAC version?
He's speaking of the folders under the image folder called background and backgroundnames. That is where you have the map tile files. Removing the *.dat files means the map tiles will be recompiled. It seems you have some kind of hybrid installation (mix og old and new version) since you have map issues, mech unit image issues etc

I have the very big zip set from dropbox -has both PC and MAC
it seems there are only picture files in those folders

The .dat files are being generated when you load the game.

Those files are only for PC not Mac.

took a casualties shot as the relentless axis push forward through some poor weather (finally!) the first fine turn should see Paris fall
we have a least nibbled the Luftwaffe a little and have killed the two units where we could get the maximum counter attack - we won't be doing much else I am affraid

we catch a small break as there is no early summer,
we continue our counter attack efforts but aren't quite brave enough to risk going for the kill - temptation!

map25_nogrid.png, map50_nogrid.png, map100_nogrid_png in both image/background and image/backgroundnames folders.
To recreate the separate map tiles you need to remove all the map25_nogrid.dat, map50_nogrid.dat and map100_nogrid.dat files in the above 2 folders.
The png files should have a date of: 17.07.2016
