Hello,
Notice as I look at FoG armies from armies I've had in other rule systems, I notice the Skythians are not able to bring the Mountain Indian allies with any elephants...
I thought the battles of 313 BC should include the Indian contingent but that my intel comes from old army books.
Any reason they lose these???
TIA,
Madcam.

Er, what about the line in the Skythian or Saka list that says - Mountain Indian allies?
Only allowed to Saka which is what the list uses for the eastern Skythian types.
I think you are also confusing the 313BC items with the use of Mountain Indian allies which was in the time of Kyros the Great.

Talking about the lack of Elephants one is allowed to take with the MI ally.
nothing but more cav/bow and not the nellies like before...

I am not sure how common elephants were in the northern mountains of India. DBA does not allow them. In DBM none are required but a max of 2 allowed. So I was not surprised to see the Mtn Indian Ally list without elephants as an option.

I'm refering to the Massagetae and the battles fought by Queen Tomyris (SP?).
From what I remember the MI brought the nellies north to fight with her and her son.

"Of all the battles ever fought by barbarians, that was the most bloody and cruel, and the way they fought was this: they first shot all the arrows they carried, and when ran out, they came close quarters..."
This is moreless what Herodotus wrote about that batlle in which Cyrus died. But I can“t find anything about elephants. Where did you read it?
