Guandong Defeat

I don't know if this is some kind of bug or not but, I was given a defeat in this scenario despite the fact I still held all objectives by the end.

Did you get a scenario defeat at the end or do you mean a campaign defeat afterwards? IIRC campaign-wise you can only make it to scn 11 (Chongqing with hypothetical campaign victory option) when you won both scn #9 and #10 decisively. If you didn't get a major/decisive victory in #9 Nanning you can progress to Guandong but cannot win the campaign anymore.

Scenario defeat then campaign defeat. I already had major victories in both 9 and 10 as it said Chongqing was isolated on the campaign board.

I tried using the #igotnukes code just now and the campaign map was completely devoid of color. That told me something must be up.

http://www.mediafire.com/file/8409vfank ... End%29.saz

Here's a mediafire link to it as the attachment upload on this board isn't allowing certain file extensions. Including .txt for some reason.

You need to zip files to attach them here.

Thank you - I tried the save. I did not get any weird colors or gfx, but yes, got a defeat too.

Did you get the two messages that Chinese attacks in the west and in the east have been defeated? It might not be well described in the mission requirements, but you need to defeat those attacks (kill off enough units attacking). That is why the "hold" objectives say someth. like "after attacks have been repelled...". So only holding those hexes is not enough when you do not cause enough losses to the attacking Chinese (for example when you just push their units back without killing them off)

Unless there is another prob I'm overlooking right now that comes to my mind as the reason for the victory not triggering.

No I did not get those messages. So that's I what I missed. I guess I should have gone after what was left. Thanks for filling in the blanks Bebro. :)

I"ll give that a try and see what happens.

I was just looking through the scenario files and something occured to me. Should I leave the supply bases alone until I get the messages? The first time through I went after one as soon as I got my bombers in the air.

It should not have a negative impact if you go after those supply bases earlier or later.

Looks like your suggestions worked Bebro. I kept destroying Chinese units and I got the major victory.
