A Heretical Question

After going through all scenarios and a number of mods and thousands of hours on PzC, is there a recommendation for another game that would be a nice change for someone who loved PzC?

Well, IMO to arrive at a better answer to your question, what is it about PC that you really like? Once you answer that question, maybe the community at large can offer some suggestions.

The one game I'm looking forward to next is SC WW2 coming out on the 17th.

chess-like planning: clearly articulating strategic goals and translating them into tactics, a need to understand each unit and use them in combination, prestige management; uncanny simulation of the historical facts, while allowing the player to explore "what if" scenarios; don't know how to describe this one, but the frequently referred to "drive to do just another turn"... What I did not like is static scenarios. I think that the game would be vastly improved if the AI number and type of units (within reason), and especially deployment and orders would be random.

I recommend Pacific General if you haven't played it already:

Try:
- Order of Battle
- Unity of Command
- Decisive Campaign
Good games on my point of view.

I would recommend Steel Panthers, but it's too dated by now in my opinion, and I am even talking about the modernized "World at War" versions.

That would be a game I would like to get the Panzer General / Corps treatment! :)

How about for iPad? I tried Battle Academy but it didn't captivate me like PzC. I was hoping for a while that OOB would be ported to iPad, but it will not be. Any suggestions?

What I also liked to play before Panzer Corps (more strategic/economic/political games):
- Hearts of Iron III
- Europa Universalis
- Civilization

Many thanks for the tip. I never played PG2, so this sounds promising.
