Playing ALL grand campaigns in historical order?

Has anyone tried playing all the the campaigns (Grand campaigns, soviet, allies, sea lion etc) in historical order?

What I mean by this is you start of with Grand campaign 39 and play the first scenario which start 01.09.39. You then continue on with 39 until you reach Modlin which start 23.09.1939. You then switch to Soviet corps first scn which start 20.09.1939. You countinue doing this by switching back and forth between all campaigns playing them in historical order. There is an excellent guide for all the campaign trees with dates on steam which can be used for this idea http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f ... =244331746

The idea behind this is to get the feeling that you are playing the entire world war 2 on all fronts in historical order. I always felt it was kinda strange to play the Grand Campaigns 39-45 and then start something like Soviet corps or Africa corps.

I think the problem is when we´ll playing as you describe, that we can´t use the own core-army during all campaigns! Especially not, when we switch e.g. from DLC´s to the other Content like Soviet Corps, Africa Corps or others.

But my motivation to play in historical order would be, that I can play with my own core-army through all campaigns and all Content.

Nicro revised a few scenarios in the campaigns to include more historically accurate units (units that were added to the game after the release of that campaign. E.g. he removed the italians from stalingrad and added the more accurate romanians, which didn't have enough good units before soviet corps was released I believe). You can find those mods in the scenario creation subforum.

As for my let's play (Lt_Joker), I hope to get up the next scenario soon. Playing them and preparing the history stuff takes some time so it's slowly progressing, but the plan is to play through every scenario that really happened in history in chronological order.

KeldorKartarn's play throughs are great as well. I like to see other's strategies on the scenarios...

Have FUN!
