I will be playing in the tournament Stork is playing in on August 2 in Austin, Tx. I plan on running a Classical Indian army. Any feedback on my current list?

C-in-C FC
2x Sub Generals TC
2BG: 2 Elephants, Average, Undrilled
1BG: 4 Heavy Chariots, Superior, Drilled, Bow
2BG: 4 Indian Cav: Cv, Protected, Average, Drilled, Light Spear
3BG: 8 Indian Archers, MF, Protected, Average, Drilled, Bow, Sword
1BG: 6 Foot Jav: MF, Protected, Average, Undrilled, Light Spear, Sword

This gives me 9 BG. Like Stork I went with no IC since terrain is pre-generated.

Wouldn't take 2 BGs of cavalry.

You are mostly drilled, so if you took all TCs and dropped a Cav BG you can afford a more useful BG such as Elephants (third one could pair with the Chariots), Javelinmen &/or LF, maybe strengthen what you have. With just a LtSpear, My lone Cav BG is a stripped down version ready for rear supporting and get-lucky flank charges rather than serious combat.

The thing about Classical Indian for me is that I need to get close to 1000 points to buy all the toys I want in the toolbox.

Good idea. I dropped the FC to a TC, swapped the second Cav BG for an Elephant BG and stripped down the remaining Cav unit to make the points right. I like that list a lot better. Now I have four elements of dangerous mounted (elephants and heavy chariots) and I can throw the Cav and the javalins behind the archery line for support. This makes me a lot less worried about finding some trees to hide in.

Thanks,
