Since the latest patch the game does not start anymore. Patch downloaded automatically, but since then I am only able to reach the game menu. The settings "Use Windows graphics scaling" and "Use legacy audio enginge" do not change the outcome. "Change Resolution" has the same effect as "Play Panzer Corps". The menu disappears and nothing else happens. Looking in the task manager there is a process "panzer_launcher (32 Bit)" that takes about 30% of CPU. Shutting down that process brings back the Game Menu.

I am using Window 8.1. Restarting steam and Windows does not change anything.

I had a similar problem with the panzer_launcher (32 Bit) since the patch before. The process would not stop after quitting Panzer Corps and had to be shut dowm manually. At least the game did start and was working as expected.

Check if any of your Internet security programs isn't interfering with the game.

There are only those built in in Windows and deactivating whats possible does not change the outcome. Starting the game directly from the file system works though (just checked). So it is fine for me, but still worth looking into. Steam is updated by the way I checked that, too.

This is is obviously something related with your system, so it's hard to say what it can be.

Please try to disable all background programs in case these are interfering with the normal running of the game.
You can do this by running msconfig and disabling all non-windows start-up programs and services.
Then once you have disabled all non-Microsoft services, please run the game and see if the issue persists.
If it does not, please then reopen msconfig and reenable those services, one by one, until you find the program causing the problem.

Well, thanks, I will try installing Direct X. If that does not work I will simply start directly. Not worth the effort...

I am having the same problem, except I am on Windows 10. Direct X 12 is installed. It's not even working for me directly from the app icon in the game files.

Finally got the game to launch from the "Panzer Corps" application icon in the main game files. I've created a shortcut to this on my desktop, so all good!
