I worked in beta test team Vietnam '65, alas i don't have time to enroll for Afghanistan (but i will buy it) for i am working as board game designer (and barrister) full time ... but i can assure that "everysinglesoldier" and "slitherine/matrix" are really excellent in managing beta testing; so do not wait ... apply to the beta and enjoy

I saw the feature list and I am glad for the inclusion of a long campaign. Vietnam 65 felt very short (if 1 turn == 1 week as my guess), the player character only spent one tour in the area. While accurate and reflects historical experience (and historical complaints that US support is often very fleeting), I'd like a more long term, generational experience where I can actually make a difference after a new generation of people grow up, so it seems Afghan 11 will provide this.

Has the beta actually started? I applied a week ago but haven't heard anything.

Are the estimated times when applications are accepted something known to the public or is it not as planned? Also would going into Vietnam 65 right now maybe give me too much of the gameplay to be spoiled and not be able to give good feedback as a newcomer?

We know more or less when new builds are coming out, depnds on how bust the Slitherine team is at the time of submission.

I would suggest you play V65, it has it's own special nuances , A11 is based on the same principles as V65 but is a completely different experience in both gameplay and depth...

Thank you for the reply, although I am not niftyeyes. I will go ahead and buy it then and not feel bad, even though that voids one of my beta-application positives.

Think that was a forum bug when it displayed my name instead of USF's but nevermind.

Anyway, look forward to hearing something, think I initially applied about 4-6 weeks ago, maybe longer the weeks fly by in my working unit lol
