Soft Cap Fix

Evening all, I have just come back to PzKorps after a long break and remember that there was an issue with the new rules for soft cap (wasn't working/calculating properly). I also recall that there was a way to alter a file to allow use the new rules but allow the cap to work the way it did previously. Can anyone steer me to how this was done and what the file was that needed changing?
Cheers,
Tony

Modify the gamerules files, MaxPrestige entry. Default is 800. Change this to 1250.
There are several gamerules files. The core game has one. Then nearly all the DLCs have their own gamerules.

So I should do this to each gametules file I find? If this is such any easy fix why is it not in an official update? Will this "break" anything else? Thanks!

There should only be one game rule file. Can not remember if there is a separate one for the DLC's Africa Korps etc.
If there is yes, change the number.
Nothing will break.
Use note pad to fix.

There seems to be separate rules files for all the individual campaigns and dlc.

In the rule files in DLCs, only the specified settings override the ones from the master file. If a setting is not in the DLC rule file, then the one from the main game is used.

The easy fix is to create a Soft Cap mod which you activate with GME, so you know for sure when it's in use.
I don't like soft cap but the tool tip is good for confirming if it's off or not, and for checking different settings.

Yes doing the "fix" is easy, what I'm trying to do is find the correct settings.
What is the recommended setting for playing the Colonel setting through the campaigns without being a super expert? I am a casual player... coming back to the game every once and a while. I want a decent but "fair" balanced challenge.
Thanks for the help.

If this is so easy to fix, why isn't this in the official patch??

Yeah, that is my question as well. I don't get it. Also I'm still trying to get a recommendation on what settings to use.

This is a little tweak of the gamerules file in which the softcap is simply turned off.
Extract in panzer corps\data folder (backup the old gamerules file before extracting)

I know. I posted this nonetheless for those who don't want the softcap at all.
