As the title suggests, is this game still active? I've never played FoG before but the screenshots looks like the kind of game I want to try, just curious as to what the status is of the multiplayer community.

we are currently stuck between two versions. The old version remains active, but the new one is having trouble getting off the ground. If you are a new buyer, I am not sure you have the option to choose.

I think every new buyer can download or ask for the 1.81 version, which is mandatory (and extremely fun!)

Yes I just installed the 1.81 patch and have already started a game with a player on MP.

Unpassworded games are snapped up quickly by players so it's often best to issue your own challenge.

How is the match difficulty handled? I want to buy this but have read about the issues of the new one. Mainly I play solo but seems this one mostly shines in MP. As a newcomer is there a match mode for the less experienced played to get their feet wet?
