What do you think of Steam's new review system

Since Steam made major changes to the review system last night as a customer who bought games directly via Slitherine and/or Bundlestars I'm a second hand reviewer now.
Only reviews from games directly bought on Steam shows up as valid reviews on the store page now and to read all reviews from people who obtained there key via another channel are marked as "key" reviews only visible when the Steam user actively change the page settings to "All" instead of "Bought directly via Steam".

- Buying on Humble or Bundlestars doesn't count as a review anymore (except when actively selected by steam user)
- Obtained beta keys
- Giveaways
- Games direclty bought via Slitherine

Unfair business practice from Steam's side imho. I want to bring this to attention. Thank you.

I tend to agree with the author of this article: https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2016/0 ... ter-games/

"This looks like the typical Valve approach of making broad, sweeping changes that affect everyone negatively rather than dealing with people individually. Rather than simply hire more staff to handle problems, they seem to end up create huge systems like Greenlight or making sweeping changes."

And with our Shards, who said that it's likely a move by Steam to try and "force" people to do EA on Steam rather than elsewhere. ;)

But yes, it's madness and very unfair towards smaller developers with very dedicated fans.
