BA metz won't install

when I try to run the BA Metz download it comes back with an error: The Installer cannot install the upgrade patch because the program being upgraded may be missing ....etc. Was there a first version you must have as a requirement. I didn't see anything that said you must have XYZ or it will not run? What's up with that?

IDo you have the base game, Battle Academy, installed?

no but I gave it now. the disclaimer wad small and hard to find. thanks
