Hey there modders and creators, I have a slight gripe.

It's not a very big gripe, and it doesn't stop me from playing the game, but I'd kind of like to be able to play the campaign - at least, the Imperial Guard one - with a female commander instead of a male one. As things stand, that doesn't SEEM to be a very big job, but I have no clue how that would be done, or what it would truly involve. And rather than spend hours trying in vain to get it to work myself, I figured I would ask the people who are most likely to have a clue on what to do.

So, any ideas?

Just go into your install folder and go to UI then Portraits. There should be two .pngs labeled player01 and player02. Just take another image from that folder, duplicate it, then rename it. Make sure to have a backup of the two original portraits. You might also be able to find something online that's 256x256 that you would prefer but there might be some weird oddities if not the correct size or if there's another file you also need to change that I'm not aware about.
