Eric,

1. Do you know why they have to "fix" Battle of Britain, with every DLC release???

2. Is there a way to make a Mod - without using (editing) the Battle of Britain Mod.

3. Why do the Artistocrats - often leave Scenario Design Questions - unanswered? It is very poor Customer Service! I want OoB to succeed. However the Artistocrats are defecating (big word for the results of the South End of a cow), on the very people who can help them be successful. It makes no business sense.

4. I know you are a volunteer, you do not work for them.

5. Artistocrats - You have a great product in OoB. However, many good businesses have gone -Out of Business- because of Poor Customer Service. One unhappy customer, does more damage, than a hundred happy customers can fix. Unhappy people are vocal and complain, happy customers in comparison, are rarely as vocal. Please hire a Customer Service Representative before you go out of Business.

Regards,
Earle

1) No

2) I have an unpublished mod that started as a copy of the BoB mod, but it should stand on its own now. My mod includes a number of new units (edited duplicates of stock units). I have used a unique unit series number. Still my mod often fails after an upgrade and I have to muck about trying to fix it. I really hope the devs can spend some time making mods more resilient, after they've fixed the current game issues of course.
The Artistocrats is a very small company, probably one main programmer and another guy doing the AI (I'm guessing here), so where to allocate the limited resources? I wish Slitherine could add a helping hand (again, I have no inside knowledge).

Exactly my thoughs... I just bought the game about two weeks ago, I fell deeply in love with, but I also see the flaws. And the big shortcoming of customer service. I see overall unanswered questions - and they are partly really issues there, not just "fun questions...
Also the game have very small manual, there is a great part of the game, which is unknown: unit stats, terrain...and the editor! See I it clear, that 1 year after the publishing there is still no proper manual how to use the editor? Sure, I can figure out many things, but instead of wasting that time, I would be more happy to create something. It shows like the devs do not want/need a community, who creates new material, add new ideas, etc.

I anticipate(d) also, that there are not so many people working on the title. That's no problem, I'm happy even to see, there is a possibility for creative people making complex games in such formations. But, if they have it really on their heart, a solution has to be found, because the actual situation angers a lot of players. And they are right: they paid for something, they tasted something good and they want to have it right.
I think, the solution would be to hire an extra person, who could make
- the customer service
- PR, Press contacts: the Winter War DLC is almost a month out there and there are almost no reviews about it. Where reviews should be written before the publishing... How will be this advertised, if even the natural and cost free options are not used?
- would have an overview about the design decisions (for example see the issue about the behind-working effect of the arty change)
- could also could make the game more historical. This last one is anyway not a big deal: one person can do it in 2 weeks maximum - I mean the Winter War DLC.

This game has so much potential in it, so I would really love to see, that it goes over these "child-sickness" and become a full adult. :)
