Winwick Pass Scenario

This one is a bit of an anticlimax. Spent ages moving my horse to the flanks - doing quite well in battle but then moved one unit into the undefended Winwick village and it was instantly game over. Not a great scenario - although it should have been. A lot of effort put into making it - but such a strange easy win.

Sorry to hear that you did not enjoy the scenario.
In my defence I would just like to say that it was one of my earlier creations, and I was not fully aware of all the options available to me...... Maybe capture the village and hold it for 'x' amount of turns, might have worked better. Hindsight is a wonderful thing

.
Thanks for the feedback, it helps with any future scenario's I create. Although they will be few and far between, as my scenario's pale in comparison to those created by john59, Odenathus and others.
Hope some of my other scenario's please you......
Regards.

It's a very well made scenario - just seems a shame that it has this fatal flaw. Can it not be quickly updated to fix a couple of units or so in the objective area and use a timer as you suggest? I'm not familiar with the scenario editor - is it possible to fix units in place for a certain duration? I've just started another scenario - The Relief of Newark. I'm not sure about this one either. It seems historically that Prince Rupert attacked quickly before his infantry was in place in order to prevent the Parliamentarian's from withdrawing. But I assume I can just bide my time until my infantry arrive - I don't see any game mechanism to punish me for waiting as it seems the game will last until one side meets the victory conditions rather than there being a set number of turns. I'm still learning the game though so I may be wrong?
Cheers,
Chris

Giving it a bit more thought, the scenario would be fine without the objective flag. You would need to win the battle to be able to take the village in reality - so if the AI struggles with the flag is it really necessary? I think it would be a really good scenario without the objective flag.
