Infantry Speeds / Large MP Battle Info

Hi Guys,

Normally I like the units as fast as possible. But I have noticed my infantry are a little fast when compared to my tanks. This is BEFORE they mount up on the truck. I should really be able to out flank infantry with tanks unless they mount up.

I would propose;
Infantry moved down to 3 native movement hexes -- after that mount up and move all you want, current speeds are fine. In some multiplayer games we have going, it just seems off a bit when guys are doing large tank flanks and the infantry are almost as quick, and really no cost compared to tanks.

Currently we are playing in 1946 (70x70 HEX) with about 33 UNITS and 12 AIR each, 9800 GOLD and 196 GOLD per/turn. So yes, they are big battles, gives us some very good data on the units. In our larger games, the specs are 120x120 HEX, 96 UNITS, 36 AIR, 28800 GOLD and 576 GOLD per/turn. The engine works very well, these are huge battles. The first thing we noticed was the ARTY issues -- it was pretty humorous when teams were fielding 8 75mm and 4 Long Toms. The current ARTY is great, it is devastating, de organize then STRIKE!

Hi Guys, you do realize at this point many tanks can't even chase down an infantry (without a truck). Not sure were tanks sit right now. We are going to spin up another HUGE battle over here and test now that we know regular infantry is it. See how we make out.

Ok, it looks like infantry only move (3) tiles now. That's much better. However, attacking un-entrenched infanty in a field with a tank should yield better results.

In 1945, if you match a Sherman against 2 infantry, generally the infantry will win or come close to stalemate. However, in 44, the tank performs well. So we will do a few more '45 missions and then bring it down to '44. This actually could be realistic given AT in the infantry units. The only think I wish, is that command points accounted (1) command point per unit, and supply was varied by unit type. Command point would limit the force size, supply would limit composition.
