Whilst rooting round a friend's loft for him I found his Nikephorian Byzantines and they looked too pretty to be stuck in a loft !!

I understand the Kataphractoi are likely to be 2 BGs of 2 bases each as Elite lancers, 1st rank sword and 2nd bow, but how do the Skoutatoi work ? And are there associated limitations upon the LF javelins as in DBM ?

In fact any idea of a sample army list would be great please.

According to the FoG web site, a Nikephorean list will be included in the upcoming supplement Decline and Fall: Byzantium at War. Past practice with unreleased lists has been for the authors to provide a few general hints and suggestions, without divulging specific details. The good news is that Decline and Fall is scheduled for release this October, so you won't have much longer to wait for the official list. :)

Cheers,
Scott

Thanks, I'd seen the book list of the fog site but you know what it's like, want to get those toys on the table and feel like you are doing it marginally properly :D

FWIW Skutatoi vary significantly over the various Byzantine lists.

The ones in the Nikephorian list will be 1/2 defensive spear, 1/2 bow in BGs of 6-8

That's the job, thanks.
