Is the reserves arrival time random in this battle? I had ten turns left which allowed me to just get the horse close and left the foot well short. Neither had any chance to engage. Tough battle for me as horse is definitely my Achilles heel. Took the smaller hill on his left flank and forced him to charge uphill against me, yeah, that didn't work too well...The AI crushed my guys in fairly short order. Also had quite a time getting my artillery in range. At one space a turn, it took quite a while to get close enough to fire upon the enemy.

The reserves tend to arrive too late - as they did in the historical battle.

Thank you for your quick reply, I guess I'm going to have to learn to fight with horse to get this one done!
