Some help needed

Playing multiplayer games I found:
- there's no possibility of chatting with my opponent,
- when launching a DAG challenge I'm not able to select FoW and DM as it happens for the scenario challenge.

Am I missing something (or maybe the DAG challenges are set on the parameters of the last scenario challenge? And in this hypothesis, to make me able to deploy my army in a DAG challenge, do I have to put the parameter on the "free deployment" option?)

Moreover in my game the Editor isn't enabled.
Is it normal?

P.S.
And now also a big news!
Has anyone noted that with FoG(U) we have the chance of launching predetermined matchups?
In fact if you choose also the army of your opponent and he accepts the challenge he will fight with that specific army.
That's a great feature that allows to play solitaire campaigns finding random opponents to battle with!

Yes, there is a chat facility if you click on the arrow on the right hand side above where the "Quit game" and "End Turn" buttons are. Another panel of buttons pops out and the chat facility is there. I think it needs redesigning so we can send longer messages but it works.

This is a bug and has been reported to Dan.

Sorry, I do not understand this point.

Yes, the editor is not ready yet.

No, I hadn't noticed that but it is an excellent feature. I will add it to the "Good things" thread. :D

Hi Pete!
when I was saying that maybe the DAG challenges are set on the parameters of the last scenario challenge I meant that the problem of not having the FoW and DM buttons in the "DAG challenge" section can be solved in this way.

You go firstly to the "Issue Challenge" section and choose your favorite options (for example DM on, FoW off).
Then you go to the "DAG Challenge" section and simply send your challenge, that will be played with the afore mentioned options.
After that, if you want to play a new "DAG Challenge" with DM off and Fow on, you go back to the "Issue Challenge" section, modify the options as you like and return to the "DAG Challenge" section, where your new challenge will be launched with the new parameters.

I tried two times and found that it really works this way.

The only option that sometimes causes problems is the "Free Deployment" because in one occasion, though acting as mentioned above, I wasn't able to deploy my army and was forced to play with the disposition chosen by the computer.

I can actually play with armies from expansions I don't have. Just have to accept a challenge made by the person who has the expansion and set up a battle with pre determined troops for both sides.

Maybe another Good Thing! Hope they don't see this as an exploit and remove it.

Good to bring this up. I actually like to know if both players need all DLC to play with all armies in MP games. I think to buy the base game as a present for my friend. I have all DLC myself. Can I be the "host" so he can use all armies from the expansion? Or do he need to buy all DLC himself as well? Is there difference between the old and the new version on this subject?

I don't think this is an exploit.
If a player has bought an expansion he is allowed to launch the challenges he prefers, otherwise it would be an unnecessary penalty for him.
Moreover it has always been the same also for the scenario games, where a player can also participate in a battle he doesn't own if the challenge is set by another who has the right DLC.

And remember also that the best way of making someone buying your item is just to let him taste a bit of it, just to become greedy ..

I bought all the DLCs to allow in theory any set-up and would set up some games with the recent DLC armies. But I am currently wishing for a fulsome manual or at least a step by step summary of the new version's setup and challenge process.

BTW saw a MP chat icon on the side but it was faded out, so assumed it does not work yet. Would be useful, though not for any problem that does not allow the turn to complete and go back to the other player.

What would be great is the ability to type in some useful descriptive language in a challenge line

Cheers
