Campaign Suggestion

First of all, just want to say how much I love this game. I picked it up during the steam summer sale and have been playing it non-stop. I'm a long time Paradox/AGEOD player who loves in-depth historical strategy games, and now I'm only upset that I waited so long to pick this one up. I also went ahead and bought the iOS version for my ipad as well to play when on the road.

So moving on...I wanted to make a suggestion regarding the campaign. Real maps. Instead of having a generic layout with random province names, how about a real map of Europe (or wherever) that zooms in on a region. For example, you are playing as the HRE vs Bohemians during the Thirty Years War...the map would be that of the Austria/Bavaria/Bohemia region with real province names, terrain, etc..

In my opinion this is something which would make this amazing game even better and add even more historical flair. As it is, I have no attachment to any province beyond what their tax base is. Most of my time is spend chasing the enemy around the map or running away from them. On the other hand, I would have an emotional attachment in defending Vienna if playing as the Catholic league...or Lisbon if playing as Portugal (thanks to that amazing mod by Paul, btw!) and so on.

One final suggestion: Add the campaign feature to the ipad version! lol...thanks again for a great game!

That's a great suggestion. I'm not sure if it is possible to implement, but I really hope so.

I did put in real place names for the Portuguese (and the other new nations) in my Extra Nations Mod, including Lisboa, but it is not the same without a real map.

Thanks for the appreciation!

Cheers

Paul

Just about anyone can do real maps if they learn the ropes. I haven't learned it yet in my case. Hehe.
A generic one is still the most efficient for sandbox play since there are so many combinations and even hypothetical / unlikely pairings.
