...any news on when we might expect a release or even possible release date for those of us who leave the testing to the diehards?

I think it's called "beta" just to avoid liabilities. Probably has less bugs than the original (and only?) release.

They are not saying this is a Beta (not yet, at least). Big difference between an official patch and a beta. Beta's are "use at your own risk" affairs-- official patches not so much. At least they are not SUPPOSED to be.
