As the title suggests, I am unable to provide text input. That means that I can't write messages, rename my units, name my saves ect. The cursor appears where it should be, the vertical input bar as well (at least on the chat window, it doesn't on the rename unit window, thought I think that this is normal) but when i type nothing appears on the screen and hiting enter, obviously, doesn't make my message appear. I am only trying to type in a supported language (English). This problem appeared out of a sudden, without any obvious system change and only affects Panzer Corps. Oddly enough, every time after booting the game, I am able to write one message in the chat window (only).

I am running the 1.26 Steam version on a Windows 8.1 laptop. Happy to provide additional system info (DX diagnostics etc.) on request.

That, unfortunately, didn't seem to fix things.

edit: it seems however that the vertical input bar does appear now on the rename unit window

Need some support there guys! Germany can't fall without renaming those neat captured Panthers!

I'm sorry but it's an odd issue don't have much suggestions to offer.
Yry the following:
Open the game installation folder. Locate and select a file named PanzerCorps.exe.
Press the right mouse button and select Properties. Click on the Compatibility tab.
Tick the option Run this program as an administrator.
Click on Apply and Ok. Double click on PanzerCorps.exe for running the game and check if the issue persists.
