What, exactly, is the difference between Allied and US corps

Hi all,
Relatively new player here.
I purchased the base game and then the mega campaign and now the US Corps (all three) and I am now wondering what exactly it is that I would get in addition if I purchased Allied corps?
Is it just the new campaign and scenarios?
Or are there units that you do not have access to with US corps that you gain access to with allied corps?
Either way I will probably buy it, but it is a bit confusing if you are looking at all of these choices from the get-go.
Also - why are all three US corps downloads over 1 Gbyte in size? the 1.26 patch is also over 1Gbyte, but that takes a while to install. the others are over 1Gbyte and install very quickly. Are they really all adding 1 Gbyte (or more) of content to the game?

Hi MajorSNAFU
Allied Corps is shorter than US corps.
Allied Corps you get use mix of allied equipment, or you can choose to use all British or all American. The American campaign was always lot harder then British campaign in Allied Corps as it is shorter and the American units get thrown in deep and hard.
US Corps longer US campaign, been grand campaign you can take your corp from year to year giving them lots missions and fun seeing them advance their career lot more. (American only)
Missions are different to each other, so there not same maps and same missions.
To compare them its like the vanilla Panzer Corps and Grand campaign for the Germans, both very different. I got all the added DLC and enjoy each them for different reasons.
Panzer Corps Vanilla average is 15 missions long (there is more missions but thats length played each play through). Shorter but love the what if and the branching it does.
Panzer Corps Grand campaign each year is about 11/12 missions long starts 39-45 about 66 missions long (there are lot more missions as their choices, Sealion, west or east)
Allied Corps its long route 24 missions as British campaign or 12 mission for American Campaign.
US Grand Campaign is 16 missions for 42, 16 for 43 and 44-45 is 18 missions (currently not sure if we play full amount each play through or if there few branches so might be few less in play through) I am playing blind as don't want to spoil it for myself.
So Allied Corps and Panzer Corps vanilla are like short run but they mainly the major battles only, German Grand Campaign and US Corps are more slow walk, we get some lesser know battles between big ones. Style of play will be very different for all. There are few times we cross paths with same place/battle but you find maps can change bit and enemy not in same places or same size.
So yes it very worth it get all Allied and Grand Campaign US Corps.
I would highly recommend other DLC to, especially Soviet Corps and Afrika Korps.
As for value shorter ones have about 25+ missions with about 2-4 paths through, So to add them with all grand campaigns, their total of with all DLC 346 missions. Thats lot game and you can add in all the community add mods will keep you busy for long long time.
Community examples Panzer General and Allied General both got modded into working campaigns, with slight changes but kept close to those original games.
