CT for seeing friends break - cascade?

I can't readily find any earlier post on this -
When a unit breaks and a friendly unit within 3 MU fails the Cohesion Test for seeing this, does this become a cause for further units to test? i.e. does the panic spread outwards, or is the original breaking unit the only cause for testing?

I'm afraid the bulleted point on page 114 under Testing Multiple Battle Groups does not help. It says "...If further battle groups break as a consequence, those that have already tested do not have to test again", which can be interpreted to mean that those breaking units do become a cause for tests by additional BG's beyond the 3MU test radius from the original broken unit, but it is not exactly explicit.

I have no strong convictions either way, but am old enough to remember some nasty cascading morale tests from early versions of WRG Ancients! :(

If you have a line of BGs and the one on one end breaks then the one next to it will have to test, if that breaks then the next has to test etc.

If you have a BG within 3 MU of several BGs when it breaks the owning player gets to choose the order of tests as if a second BG breaks it could cause the remaining one to test at -1 for more than one reason to test.

In practice you won't get a nasty cascade unless the surrounding BGs are already very shaky. I would submit that that is historical.

Thanks, both - that settles any doubts! And it has to be said that the FoG Cohesion Test does mean that multiple breaks are unlikely unless several BGs are already fragmented - even disrupted BGs are not THAT likely to break; but if it happens, at least it means a quick and decisive finish to the battle. More likely it would be the start of the rot, possibly bringing a collapse a turn or two down the line.

OK - I'm happy with that. Thanks.
