A month ago I started historical Turkish war Campaign. I'm playing as Ottomans against austrians. We fought 7 battles and It seems I'm losing the campaign. I had more victories, but the strategical situation is in favour of Imperial troops.
At the start I chose automatic initial setup and the AI created an army for me. It was almost entirely Horse with a couple of Janissaries. I played many times as ottomans in skirmish, but there was an entirely different army setup. Now I simply don't have enough firepower with so few Janissaries.

Strategical/tactical advice much appreciated.

Infantry is quite important in campaign. Because the more infantry you have, the faster you can capture the provinces. This may be the reason why you are losing the strategic war.

Thank You. I'm also interested in some tactical advice - what to do with all this Ottoman cavalry vs Austrian troops.
In general, I'm winning battles, but I'm really struggling - last victories were a matter of luck more than skill.

The more you play, the easier it gets.
Now I'm losing as mongols vs japanese in sengoku jidai.

That’s tough. Mongols don’t have infantry to capture provinces quickly.
