Modding unit experience stars

Hello guys!
I have a question about modding the unit experience star icons. In Commander Europe at War, German units had Balkenkreuz icons to indicate their veterancy. Would it be possible to edit the star icons to Balkenkreuz to enhance immersion into the game?
